Reebok Running Squad – Reebok Ambassador, Gautam Gambhir to flag off first RRS meet in the city

New Delhi, September 18, 2011: Reebok India, the Official Training and Sportswear partner for Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2011 has taken on the initiative to groom participants of the Half Marathon with the Reebok Running Squad. Since 10th September, Reebok India has started providing the professional training platform to participants registering for the half marathon scheduled on the 27th of November 2011.

Today, the members of the Reebok Running Squad will get a chance to meet Reebok Ambassador, Gautam Gambhir as he flags off the first race at the first RRS meet on at Nehru Park, New Delhi. Bringing together the RRS groups from across Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida, the RRS Meet is a chance for all the RRS members to have a friendly run for a fitter and healthier Delhi.

The Reebok Running Squad marathon training has kick started with a tremendous response, with more than 120 runners from across all regions coming for the professional marathon training every morning. Taking on the challenge to groom participants for distance running for the Airtel Half Marathon 2011, the marathon training covers the three key aspects: stamina building, all round physical training and nutrition. The free training sessions began from 10th September’ 2011 and will continue till 26th November 2011.

The Reebok Running Squad Marathon Training Program is powered by Zigtech in association with Fitho, a fitness and a weight management service that provides personalized fitness plans &training that are customized to each individual’s needs. The RRS program is designed to provide a structured training routine that focuses on key areas of physical fitness: stamina, endurance and strength, which are required to run the half marathon. The program is versatile and trains people of different fitness levels ranging from new runners (who have never run in their life) to advanced runners. A team of certified nutritionists and dieticians are also associated with this training program that work closely with individuals/groups training to ensure that diet compliments the physical training routine ensuring complete fitness required to achieve the end results.
